Next up in our ‘Vineyard Spotlight’ series is..
Warehorne Vineyard is a family-owned gem nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside. Located in the village of Warehorne, the vineyard spans 10.2 hectares and offers visitors stunning views across Romney Marsh, with the Dungeness Power Station and Rye Park Wind Farm visible from the top of their site.
The first vines were planted in May 2020. 15,250 vines were planted in total, grape varieties planted were Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Divico.
In 2021, an additional 2,000 Cabernet Noir vines were added, followed by 8,000 more Divico vines in 2022. Warehorne celebrated its first harvest in 2022, leading to the release of their first vintage in June 2023.
All their 2022 wines have since gone on to become award winners in the WineGB awards! Plus their Oasthouse Pinot Gris 2023.
Specialising in still wines, if you are a fan of red wine this is the place to visit! They currently offer three exceptional reds (rare for an English vineyard): the Oasthouse Pinot Noir, Oasthouse Estate Red Reserve, and Oasthouse Divico. All available to taste and purchase at their cellar door. We can’t choose a favourite!
